Motivational Skills

It is important that you remain motivated and focused on earning your degree. If you ever feel yourself losing speed and wanting to give up, just remember to REACH.

You are responsible for your own actions. If you don’t study for the next exam or if you don’t read the material, you might face setbacks that could have otherwise been avoided. It is up to you to keep up with the lessons, and you will reap the benefits!

You get out what you put into it. The more effort and time you spend on yourself and furthering your education, the faster you’ll obtain a degree and start advancing your career.

Acknowledge Your Accomplishments
You aced a test! You completed an assignment with time to spare! Each accomplishment, no matter how big or small, should be acknowledged. Don’t just concentrate on all that lies ahead. Recognize that you are doing a great job in your studies. Give yourself a pat on the back, and work to add to your accomplishments.

Count Your Motives
If you ever feel the need to put something off, ask yourself these questions:

1. Why am I doing this?
2. What’s my end goal?
3. What will happen if I put this off?

If you see exactly what you are aiming for, you are more likely to work hard toward achieving that goal. Falling behind in your studies will only keep you from your ultimate end goal…your education!

Help Yourself
No one can make you do the work. The only person who benefits from your dedication to your education…is you! Find the motivation to help yourself through a chapter or through an assignment, and you’ll be helping your future.
